Oliva, Filomena, 94, of Anoka Avenue, died peacefully on June 5, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late James Oliva and the late Peter E. D’Elia. Born in Barrington, a daughter of the late Crescenzo and Maria (Cioe) Pompeii, she lived in Barrington for 94 years.

Mrs. Oliva was a scalloper for the former Rhode Island Lace Works for 20 years, before retiring in 1989. Filomena was a communicant of Holy Angel church.

She is survived by a daughter; Camille Longo and her husband Louis of Barrington, two sisters; Anna Florenzano of Barrington and Angela Acciardo of Barrington, a granddaughter; Carin Longo of Barrington, a grandson; Christopher Longo and his wife Cara of East Providence and a great granddaughter Cadence Longo. She was the mother of the late Camille Marie D’Elia and sister of the late Barbara Lomastro, Louis and John Pompeii.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday June 9, 2011 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Angel Church, 341 Maple Avenue, Barrington at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Santa Maria del Campo Cemetery, Upland Way, Barrington. Calling hours are Thursday morning 8-9 a.m. Flowers are respectfully omitted.
