Oliver, L. Florence, ‘Flossie’, 85, of Peppermint Lane, died peacefully on March 19, 2012 surrounded by her loving family at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence. She was the wife of the late Lloyd E. Oliver.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late George and Florence (Farmer) Vennberg, she lived in Johnston for 20 years. Previously, she resided in Riverside for many years. Mrs. Oliver was the chief switch board operator for the Providence Journal Company for thirty years before retiring in 1990.

Florence enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, reading, playing bingo, trips to the casino, and traveling to the Gulf Coast of Florida.

She is survived by a daughter; Lloydanne E. Leddy and her husband Jerry of Johnston, a brother-in-law; Albert Mink of Florida, three nephews; David, Steven, and Christopher Mink and their families, and a granddoggie; ‘Rags’. She was the sister of the late Barbara Mink.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service in Swan Point Cemetery Chapel, Blackstone Blvd, Providence on Friday March 23, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be private. Flowers are respectfully omitted. Arrangements are under the direction of the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, Riverside.
