Hawkins, Francis, R., 92, of Atria Bay Spring Village and Briny Breezes, FL, died peacefully on February 26, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Marion S. (McConnell) Hawkins.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Michael and Ellen (Miner) Hawkins, he lived in Barrington and Briny Breezes, FL.

Mr. Hawkins held various sales positions throughout the Northeast States representing the Celotex Corp.

Francis was graduate of Hope High School Class of 1939 and a graduate of Providence College Class of 1942.

Mr. Hawkins was a communicant of St. Luke Church, Barrington and St. Vincent Ferrer Church, Delray Beach, FL. He was an anchorman for the Briny Breezes Broadcast Corp. He was an active member of the Providence College Alumni Association.

A sports enthusiast, Francis enjoyed golfing, swimming, hiking and watching Notre Dame Football games.

Mr. Hawkins was a United States Army-Air Force Veteran serving as a Corporal in the European Theatre during World War II.

He is survived by three sons; Rev. Robert F. Hawkins, Pastor of St. Luke Church, Barrington, Charles M. Hawkins of North Providence and Stephen M. Hawkins of Odessa, FL, a daughter; Mary Ellen Brady of Jefferson, NH, five grandchildren; Sarah Brady Clark, Ellen Hoverman, Kerry Beth Brady, Stephen M. Hawkins Jr. and Corey A. Hawkins and three great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Thomas Hawkins and Katherine Wetzel.

His funeral will be held on Saturday March 2, 2013 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 am with a Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by his son Rev. Robert F. Hawkins in St. Luke Church, Washington Road, Barrington at 10 am. Graveside burial with Military Honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
