Frank Gaboury

Gaboury, Frank, 91, formerly of Worcester Avenue, Riverside, died on March 25, 2014 in Port Richey, FL. Frank was born September 7, 1922 in Seekonk, MA, the son of the late Frank C. and Catherine (Hackett) Gaboury.

During World War II, Frank served in the Army in the 532nd Engineer, Boat and Shore Regiment in New Guinea and was in the invasion of Leyte in the Philippines. His proudest moment was meeting Gen. MacArthur on his victorious return following the battle for Leyte. Frank also received a Bronze Star for his bravery.

Frank was a roofer by trade and for many years was a Superintendent of the Roofing Division of Greenwood Sheet Metal of Warwick.

Frank is survived by his loving wife, Ruth; son-in-law; Larry R. McVay of Gambrills, MD, five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Frank was predeceased by his parents, brothers and sisters, son; James S. Gaboury and daughter; Kathleen M. McVay.

His funeral service will be held on Saturday March 29, 2014 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 11 am. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours are Saturday morning 9:30-11 am.
