Coury, Fred, P., Sr., 84, of Roffee Street, died peacefully on Sunday September 2, 2012 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Frances (Abate) Coury.

Born in Providence, a son of the late John E. and Anne (Stevens) Coury, he lived in Barrington for 56 years.

Mr. Coury was a machinist for the former New England Butt Co. for 40 years before retiring in 1987.

Fred was a communicant of Holy Angels Church. He was past President of the Local Steel Workers International. He enjoyed bowling and spending time with his loving family.

Mr. Coury was a United States Navy Veteran serving during World War II.

Besides his wife of 60 years, he is survived by five children; Fred P. Coury Jr., John J. Coury, Debra A. Mallozzi, Kenneth S. Coury and Dan A. Coury, all of Barrington, a sister; Rose Mendonca of Johnston, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Joseph Coury.

His funeral service will be held Wednesday September 5, 2012 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 10 am. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Forest Chapel Cemetery, Nayatt Road, Barrington.
