Peterson, Frederick J., 91, of Riverside House, Willett Avenue, Riverside, died peacefully on February 8, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.

A lifelong resident of Riverside, he was the son of the late Sigurd T. and Mary Jane (O’Shea) Peterson.

Mr. Peterson was a serviceman for the Rochester Midland Co. for 27 years before retiring in 1988.

Frederick was a communicant of St. Brendan Church. He was a member of the Riverside American Legion Post #10 and the Riverside Bishop Hickey Knights of Columbus.

Mr. Peterson was a United States Navy Veteran serving during World War II and the Korean War.

He is survived by his children, Denise M. Betz of Portsmouth, Edward J. Peterson of Denver, CO, Daniel J. Peterson of Riverside, Renee L. Lorince of East Providence, Frederick J. Peterson Jr. of Salem, OR and Lauren E. Peterson of Zephyrhills, FL; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren and a companion, Nikki Macedo of Riverside. He was the brother of the late Edward, Jack and Sookey Peterson and Jean Andreozzi.

His funeral will be held on Friday February 16, 2018 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 10 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Calling hours are Thursday February 15, 2018 from 4-8 p.m. Flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Frederick’s memory to the Child Fund International, P.O. Box 26507, Richmond, VA, 23261 would be deeply appreciated.

Hi Dad I was just thinking of you remembering all the fun we had when I would go to the American Legion you are such a jokester and I remember the great times as a little girl going to Galilee with your cute little camper those were fun times dad I love you and I miss you very very much big giant hugs for you till we meet again missing you terribly your daughter Renee ?✨

  3. Dear Dad, I will never forget our many fishing trips. You were a good provider who worked hard for his family. Even though we often didn’t see things eye to eye, I’ve always loved you and always will.

    My whole life you have always hugged me close, told me you loved me… and told every one around you to “eat your heart out”. You made us all smile, even now I smile thinking about all of the times you made me proud to be your granddaughter. Thank you for being who you are and raising some great kids- including the best dad in the world who reminds me of you. I love you Pops and will miss seeing you and talking to you.
