Nickerson, Gary A., 60, of Brook Avenue, Riverside, died unexpectedly on December 16, 2017.

Born in Providence, a son of Robert D. Nickerson of Riverside and the late Marilyn S. (McConnell) Nickerson, he was a lifelong resident of Riverside.

Mr. Nickerson was an accountant for the Cranston Print Works Co. for 35 years before retiring in 2013.

Gary was a graduate of Roger Williams College. He was a loving caregiver for his father.

Besides his father, he is survived by two brothers, Dale R. Nickerson of Foster and David L. Nickerson of Fall River, MA; one nephew and one niece.

His funeral service will be held on Wednesday December 20, 2017 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Rumford Cemetery, Rumford. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.

  1. Gary was such a kind and gentle soul. He was devoted to his father and the care he needed. Growing up with the all the Nickerson boys I will always remember the fun of kick the can, kick ball and having to be in when the street lights came on. Gary would chase around Freida and Ganda to give us back the can or ball. Often a dong bone would be offered in exchange for the ball. He is now with Marilyn and Velma whom he adored. Rest in peace Gary . Know you will be missed.

  5. Sad to hear of Gary’s passing. He was a great neighbor and an amazing son and caregiver to Bob. Truly a loss.

  6. I was so sad to learn of Gary’s passing. He was a wonderful person. Heaven gained an angel on Saturday. My sincere condolences to everyone in his family.
