Peterson, Gary R., 86, of Vineland Avenue, Rumford, died peacefully on November 26, 2021 at Miriam Hospital, Providence.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Marion Peterson, he lived in Rumford for the past 40 years.
Mr. Peterson was a truck driver for the M.H. Stallman Trucking Co. for 48 years before retiring in 2018.
A sports enthusiast, Gary played baseball, basketball, ran track and pitched a no-hitter for East Providence High School in 1954. He loved his sports and his favorite team was the Buffalo Bills.
He is survived by a daughter, Doreen M. Anella of East Providence; two sons, Michael A. Peterson of North Providence and Derek J. Peterson of Warren; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was the father of the late Cheryl A. Peterson and Gary R. Peterson Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Calling Hours in the
W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside on Wednesday December 1, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. A private burial will be held in Seekonk Cemetery, Seekonk, MA.
