Bell, George, H., Jr., 87, of Crown Avenue, died peacefully on February 10, 2011 at the Phillip Hulitar Inpatient Center surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Beatrice C. (Painchaud) Bell.

Born in Providence, a son of the late George H. and Mary E. (Tedeschi) Bell Sr., he lived in East Providence for 60 years.

Mr. Bell was a loyal union electrician for I.B.E.W. Local #99 for 50 years before retiring in 1985.

George was a former member of the Riverside American Legion Post #10 and a member of the I.B.E.W. Local #99.

Mr. Bell was a United States Army Veteran serving in the 8th Air Force during World War II.

Besides his wife of 62 years, he is survived by a daughter; Elizabeth M. (Bell) Gilheeney and her husband John of Coventry, a son; George H. Bell III and his wife Sandra of Riverside, six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Joseph and Charlie Bell.

‘Grandpa George’ will be especially missed by his great grandson; Colin Anthony Masseur, his special pal.

His funeral service will be held on Tuesday February 15, 2011 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 11 am. Burial will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Calling hours are Monday 4-7 pm.
