Sanders, Gerald, P., 82, of Somerset Avenue, Riverside, died peacefully on April 16, 2014. He was the devoted companion of the late Irma Johnson.

A lifelong resident of Riverside, he was the son of the late Matthew F. and Nellie (English) Sanders.

Mr. Sanders was a project manager for R.J. Sanders Inc. for 30 years before retiring in 1997.

Gerald was a communicant of St. Brendan Church. He was a R.I. Licensed Master Pipe Fitter. He enjoyed fishing, lobstering and boating on Narragansett Bay.

Mr. Sanders was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by a brother; Raymond J. Sanders of Rumford and nine nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late John M. Sanders, William A. Sanders, Donald F. Sanders and Edward Sanders.

His funeral will be held on Monday April 21, 2014 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 9 am with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 11 am. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
