Prew, Gertrude I., (Siravo), 94, of Meadowcrest Drive, Riverside, died peacefully on March 2, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Junior “Bud” Prew.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Pasquale and Viola J. (Bates) Siravo, she lived in Riverside since 1945.
Mrs. Prew was a machine operator for the former Pulling Chain Co. of Barrington for 30 years before retiring in 1989.
Gertrude enjoyed gardening, knitting and embroidering. She was an avid Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots and NASCAR fan.
She is survived by three sons, Michael A. Prew and his wife Sheri of Foster, Ret. EPFD Captain Stephen D. Prew and his wife Cindy of Boynton Beach, FL and Ret. PFD Captain Kenneth E. Prew and his wife Lori of Riverside; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great great grandson; two sisters, Unice Franco of Cranston and Marie Figuerido of Providence and two brothers, Pat Siravo of Westerly and Ronald Siravo of Providence. She was the sister of the late Bernice Siravo, Beverly Pratt and Jimmy Siravo.
Her funeral service will be private. Burial will be held in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
