Gilbert J. Belasco

Belasco, Gilbert J., 76, of ‘Stonegate’, Bullocks Point Avenue, Riverside, died unexpectedly on December 24, 2016. He was the beloved husband of Janice A. (Gurney) Belasco.
Born in Fall River, MA, a son of Agnes (Pacheco) Munap of Providence and the late Gilbert J. Belasco, he lived in Riverside for 33 years.
Mr. Belasco was a counselor for the Providence School Department for many years.
Gilbert was a United States Army Veteran.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Repoza and Jennifer Belasco; two brothers, Ramon Correa and Richard Belasco and three grandchildren, Devin Belasco and Ashley and Tara Repoza.
His funeral service will be private. Burial will be held in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
I had the pleasure of serving with Gilbert in the army. We were stationed at Sandia Base New Mexico in the base hospital. Gilbert was a friend to all and had a quick wit and a great sense of humor.
