Gordon E. Chadsey

Chadsey, Gordon, E., ‘Chad’ 81, formerly of Barrington, died peacefully with his wife by his side on August 5, 2012 at the Life Care Center, Winter Haven, FL. He was the beloved husband of Joan W. (Ramsay) Chadsey.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Charles H. and Dorothy G. (Brownell) Chadsey, he lived in Davenport, FL for 20 years previously residing in Barrington for 32 years.

Mr. Chadsey was a delivery sales person for the Gulf Oil/ Chevron Co. for 20 years before retiring in 1985.

Gordon played industrial league softball where he received an MVP award. He enjoyed skiing, cycling, fishing, square dancing, woodworking and golfing. While in Florida he scored a hole in one.

Mr. Chadsey built model construction equipment from exotic woods and many are displayed in homes. His workmanship was also evident in the R.V. Park where he resided for 20 years. He was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.

Besides his wife of 54 years, he is survived by a son; Charles G. Chadsey and his wife Julie of Seekonk, MA, a brother; Lloyd I. Chadsey and his wife Carolyn of Rumford, three grandchildren; Corinda R. Chadsey of East Providence, Michael J. Chadsey of Warren and Staff Sgt. Charles A. Chadsey and his wife Kathy of Fort Polk, LA, four nephews, two great nephews and five great nieces. He was the father of the late Steven L. Chadsey.

His funeral service will be held on Monday August 20, 2012 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 1 pm. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Elm Grove Cemetery, North Kingstown. Calling hours are Sunday 6-8 pm.
