Farrar, Gregg J., 60, of Rumford Towers, Newman Avenue, Rumford, died unexpectedly on July 16, 2022 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence.

Born in St. Albans, VT, a son of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Hollis) Farrar, he lived in East Providence most of his life.

Mr. Farrar was an architect for Vista Wall for 20 years before retiring due to illness.

Gregg was a member of the East Providence Elks Club and past Treasurer of the East Providence F.O.P.A. A sports enthusiast, he was a devoted New England Patriot, Boston Red Sox and NASCAR fan.

He is survived by a son, Charles E. Farrar of East Providence; a sister, Kimberly M. Farrar of Powhatan, VA; a brother, Scott C. Farrar of Riverside and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday July 20, 2022 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside from 4-7 p.m.

  1. Gregg was a great guy. I have known him for over 15 years. I worked in the Engineering Department with him. What a world of knowledge that guy had. Loved Charlie. Always came in to visit with Charlie, so we all got to see him grow. Can’t believe he is gone. From his picture he looked great. In better health than the last time I had saw him. Prayers go to his sister and Charlie. RIP Gregg. Hope you are now forever in peace and out of pain.

    I feel blessed to have known Greg. I will remember his smile and his sense of humor. My heart goes out to his family. He will be missed by all that knew him.

  8. I’ve known Gregg for as long as I can remember. He was my partner several times when I went to my sister’s to play with her and Doug. Now Doug and Gregg are together again. He’ll be missed by so many. Wendy

  19. There will never be another man like Gregg. His life was difficult but he always had a smile and made people around him laugh. He loved Charlie dearly and was an awesome dad with endless patience. He touched so many of us in such a positive way. He was always willing to help anyone, but never accepted help for himself. Gregg, you were so special to so many people. You are sorely missed and the world is worse off for you departure. Fly high, fly free my friend!!!

  20. Greg I always admired you for the stress you had to do things on your own and refuse help when it was a physical situation you were always independent. You’re a hero. I will never forget the day that we went skydiving together in Newport. What an experience that was. And you were the first to go without question. You’re a brave man strong man smart and caring. The way you took care of your disability and took care of Charlie at the same time could only be from a strong man Brave man. You have many many friends that know this. Please remember our skydiving day it was the most rememberable day of my life. Thank you Greg
