Helene M. Tosone

Date of Passing:

July 11, 2025

Helene M. Tosone, 91, of Riverside and formerly of Barrington for 38 years, passed away on July 11, 2025 after living a full life. Helene was the wife of the late Mario Tosone for 66 years.

Helene was born in Lawrence, MA, the daughter of the late John and Theresa (Regan) O’Brien. She was a graduate of Merrimack College and worked at Sacketts Card Shop in Barrington for many years.

Helene loved to travel the globe with her husband and especially enjoyed cruising, with over 20 voyages under their belts. She also loved spending time with her with friends and was sure not to miss out on a card game whenever available.

Proud of her Irish heritage, she looked forward to St. Patrick’s Day and had the home decorations to prove it. But her love of the Christmas holidays was even greater, as evidenced by her festive decorations and the care she took in setting up her Christmas village.

The matriarch of a close family, Helene is survived by two daughters Karen Kazanjian (Michael) of Barrington and Christine Damato (Gregory) of West Hartford, CT, and a son John Tosone (Cindy) of Charlestown, RI. She was blessed with four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at Warren Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for the compassionate and dedicated care they provided.

Her funeral and visitation will be held on Friday July 18, 2025 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside from 9 a.m.- 10 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Angels Church, Maple Avenue, Barrington at 11 a.m. A private burial will be held at a later date.

Contributions in Helene’s memory to Hope Health Hulitar Hospice & Palliative Care, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI, 02904 would be deeply appreciated.
