Hope V. Lama

Lama, Hope V., (Sarracino), 86, formerly of West Street, Barrington, died peacefully on July 1, 2020 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Joseph F. Lama.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Orlando and Vivian (Russell) Sarracino, she lived in Barrington for 73 years and East Providence for 13 years.

Mrs. Lama was a painter for the former Trifari Jewelry Mfg. for 15 years before retiring in 1975.

Hope was a communicant of Holy Angels Church. She enjoyed collecting antiques, gardening and nature.

She is survived by two sons, Joseph F. Lama Jr. of East Providence and David J. Lama and his wife Donna of Barrington; a grandson, David J. Lama Jr. of Barrington and great-granddaughter Brooke. She was the sister of the late Shirley Rahl.

A Celebration of Her Life will be held in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside on a date and time to be announced.

  1. I actually had no idea until just rt now. I went to go call her ❤️ I am heartbroken but also so very thankful that I got to spend so much time with this woman while she was my monitor/friend on my bus.

  2. Sincere sympathy to the family of Hope. She was always around Sugar Bowl or on West Street where flowers and vegetables were for sale. God speed in your stairway to heaven.

  3. I knew Hope when she and Joe owned “The Sugar Bowl. Over the years,whenever we met it was a pleasant surprise for both of us. I will miss those occasions.
