PRENDERGAST, HOWARD D., Jr. 64, formerly of Wilson Avenue, Rumford, died on August 27, 2018 in Greenfield, MA, surrounded by his friends and family.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Howard D, and Anne E. (Carroll) Prendergast, Howie was a 1973 graduate of LaSalle Academy and served in the U.S. Air Force. After completing his military service, Howie worked in the painting, carpentry and electrical trades. During his retirement in Greenfield MA, Howie enjoyed the company of his friends, tending his plants and rooting on the NY Jets.
He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Prendergast of Wisconsin; and his siblings, Paul E. Prendergast of Johnston, Jayne A. Reo of Warwick, Sue C. Prendergast and her husband John J. Amaral of Portsmouth, Beth M. Purcell and her husband Arthur of Jacksonville, NC, and Kate M. Prendergast of South Kingston, as well as several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2018 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:30am with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret Church, 1098 Pawtucket Avenue, Rumford at 10:00am. His burial with full Military honors will be in Mount St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Calling hours will be Wednesday, September 19, 2018, 4-7pm.
