J. James Watson

Watson, J. James, 85, formerly of Yale Avenue, Riverside, died peacefully on August 24, 2016. He was the husband of the late Mary B. (Carroll) Watson.

Born in Fall River, MA, a son of the late William A. and Genevieve (Rourke) Watson, he lived in Riverside for 48 years and Barrington for 5 years.

Mr. Watson was a master technician and crew chief for WCVB Channel 5, Boston for 25 years before retiring in 1999. He previously was with WPRO TV, Providence for 20 years.

James was a communicant of St. Brendan Church and a member of the Rumford Friends of St. Patrick’s Society. He was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by five sons, James J. Watson and his wife Pamela of Riverside, John M. Watson and his wife Doreen of Bristol, Jeffrey W. Watson and his wife Charlene of Rehoboth, MA, Christopher Watson of Bonita Springs, FL and Brian Watson and his wife Mary of Barrington; a sister, Muriel Anderson of Cranston and eight grandchildren, Jared, Tyler, Emma, Chloe, Gabrielle, Colette, Brendan and Colby. He was the brother of the late William A. Watson Jr.

His funeral will be held on Monday August 29, 2016 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
