James D. Owen

Owen, James D., 82, of Winslow Street, Riverside, died peacefully on Saturday June 30, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Gary, Indiana, a son of the late James and Sophia Owen, he lived in Riverside for 20 years.
Mr. Owen was a high voltage lineman for Nipsco for 20 years before retiring in 1982.
James was a communicant of St. Brendan Church. He enjoyed working with cars.
Mr. Owen was a United States Army Veteran.
He is survived by a daughter, Kerry Heitkotter of Schaumburg, IL; two sons, Scott Owen and his wife Kristin of Riverside and Michael Owen and his wife Margaret of Hobart, IN; two brothers, Ron Owen and Roger of Valparaiso, IN; three sisters, Diane Henderson, Donna Fickesand Debbie Owen, all of Valparaiso; eight grandchildren, Ben, Heather, Hannah, Scott, Danielle, Charisma, Michael and Jackie and one great granddaughter, Caedence Yergeau. He was the father of the late James Joseph Owen.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside, Thursday July 12, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. Burial will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
