James J. Madden

Madden, James J., 72, of Franklin Street, Riverside died peacefully on January 7, 2020. He was the beloved husband of Mary (McShane) Madden.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Joseph and Mildred (Lacross) Madden, he lived in Riverside for 60 years.
Mr. Madden was an elevator mechanic for Otis Elevator Co. for 30 years before retiring in 2003.
James was a member of the East Providence Athletic Club and the Seekonk American Legion.
A sports enthusiast, he enjoyed golfing and was a devoted New England Patriots fan.
Besides his wife of 50 years, he is survived by a daughter, Melissa A. Medeiros of Riverside; a son, James J. Madden of Riverside; a sister, Patricia Antonelli of Seekonk, MA; two granddaughters, Taylor and Bailey Medeiros and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be held on Saturday January 11, 2020 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
Calling hours are Friday 4-8 p.m.

Lynn and I send our deepest condolences for your loss. Although we hadn’t talked with you in quite a while, Jim and I and you spent many happy hours over the years whether working, fishing or on vacations. The two of you have always been in our thoughts and prayers and always will be.
