James W. MacKnight

MacKnight, James W., 85, formerly of Riverside, died peacefully on April 26, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Shirley A. (Medeiros) MacKnight for 59 years.

Born in Clinton, MA, a son of the late George and Margaret (Casson) MacKnight, he lived in Riverside most of his life.

Mr. MacKnight was a custodian at St. Luke School, Barrington for 20 years before retiring in 1995.

James was an outdoors enthusiast. He enjoyed gardening, boating and spending time with his loving grandchildren.

Mr. MacKnight was a United States Navy Veteran.

He is survived by his children, Kim Becker of Las Vegas, NV, James J. MacKnight of Riverside and Kerry G. Howard of East Providence and two grandchildren, Griffin and Jenna Becker of Las Vegas, NV. He was the twin brother of the late John R. MacKnight and brother of the late Donald MacKnight and George MacKnight.

His funeral service will be held on Saturday May 4, 2019 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 1 p.m. Calling hours are Saturday 11 a.m.- 1 p.m.

    Sorry for your loss. Your Dad was a good and interesting man; alway with a good story to tell. May he rest in peace after his recent struggles and a long life, lived well.

    Unfortunately I will be unable to attend calling hours or his funeral service as it is First Communion day in the parish. He, and you, will be remembered in my prayers.
