Smith, Jane, M., 67, of Ferncrest Drive, Riverside, died peacefully on July 11, 2013. She was the beloved wife of Francis J. Smith.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Michael and Rose (Donohue) Baxter, she lived in Riverside for 39 years.

Mrs. Smith was an Office Manager for the former Peltor Co. for 11 years and an Assistant to the President and Vice President of Collette Travel Co. for 10 years before retiring in 2009.

Jane was a Past President of the Waddington School P.T.A. and a volunteer at the East Providence Animal Shelter where she enjoyed her pets. She also enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.

Besides her husband of 44 years, she is survived by a daughter; Heather M. DeMello of Somerset, MA, two sons; James F. Smith of West Warwick and Ryan M. Smith of Concord, NH, a sister; Judith Goodwin of Chevy Chase, MD, a brother; Philip Baxter of Torrance, CA and four grandchildren.
