Sherwin, Jane W., 78, of Delmage Road, Swansea, MA, died peacefully on January 19, 2023 surrounded by her loving family at the Hope Health Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence. She was the beloved wife of Craig J. Sherwin.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Michael and Winifred (Mungovan) Griffin, she lived in Swansea, MA for 45 years.

Mrs. Sherwin was an office secretary at Chemical Products, East Providence for 20 years before retiring in 1986.

Jane was a graduate of East Providence High School Class of 1961 and attended Johnson & Wales University.

Mrs. Sherwin was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church and she was a volunteer for various committees at the Parish. She enjoyed drawing and reading.

Besides her husband of 45 years, she is survived by a sister, Sister Nancy Griffin of Cumberland. She was the sister of the late Francis J. Griffin.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday January 24, 2023 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:30 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 530 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea, MA at 10 a.m. Burial will be held in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA. Calling hours are Monday 4-7 p.m.

  1. I met Jane when I was 17 and she was a very dear friend. I spoke to her on her last Birthday, and it was great to go down memory lane with her. Craig and Nancy my thoughts and prayers are with you – and my memories. Jane – you are home now, surrounded in love. Say hi to your mom for me – and say hi to my mom for me too.

  2. I’m so sorry to learn of Jane’s passing. We were classmates at EPHS and I really liked her. I remember her as being very sweet.
