Amaral, Janice Ann (McDonald), 79, of Lady Lake, Florida, formerly of Harvey Avenue, Riverside passed away peacefully at the Brandley Hospice House in Summerfield, Florida on Sunday, July 31, 2016.

Born in Providence, Rhode Island on February 23, 1937, Janice is survived by her husband Joaquim Pedro Amaral, children Michaela and Peter Amaral, grandchildren Tiernan and Declan Amaral and Brother Daniel McDonald. Janice raised her family in Riverside, Rhode Island and went on to retire in the Villages, Florida in 2012.

Janice was a loving wife, mother, nana, sister, aunt and friend who will be forever missed. Her contagious laugh, beautiful smiling face and Irish strength remains forever in the hearts of all that knew her. Janice was a talented and avid knitter, volunteered countless hours at the East Providence Senior Center and loved sweets in every season. Janice will be deeply missed for her positive spirit, unwavering love for family, friends and her kind and generous nature towards all.

To honor Janice, the family requests you wear a hint of green during the service. Not only is green Janice’s favorite color but will also represent her everlasting life and strong Irish strength.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday August 6, 2016 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 9 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial St. Francis Xavier Church, 81 North Carpenter Street, East Providence at 10 a.m. Burial will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday 5-7 p.m.
