Pacheco, Jean, M., 76, formerly of Merritt Road, died peacefully on Thursday November 8, 2012.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Jesse and Olympia (Foncesa) Pacheco, she lived in East Providence for 71 years and Rehoboth, MA for 5 years.

Miss Pacheco was a teacher for the East Providence School Department for 37 years before retiring as the Director of the English Department at East Providence High School in 1994. She also was a tutor at Johnson & Wales University in Providence.

Jean was a member of the National Education Association, Rhode Island Education Association and the East Bay Teachers Association. She enjoyed reading, traveling, decorating and clothes shopping.

She is survived by a brother; Jesse Pacheco of Albuquerque, NM, five nephews, one niece and her friend; Jean Grover of Rehoboth, MA.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Martha’s Church, Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence on WednesdayNovember 14, 2012 at 10 am. Burial will follow in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
