Blanchette, John, C., 83, of Anson Drive, Riverside, passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family on October 13, 2010. He was the former husband of Jacqueline (McIver) Blanchette of Riverside.

Born in Providence, a son of the late John and Ruth (Denneney) Blanchette, he lived in Riverside for 10 years and Barrington for 73 years.

Mr. Blanchette was an award winning golfer.

Besides his former wife, he is survived by two daughters; Claudia Balcewicz of Barrington and Louise Blanchette of North Smithfield, two sons; David Blanchette of Bristol and Michael Blanchette of Colorado, five grandchildren; Melissa DeStefano, Cynthia Balcewicz, Melissa Craig, John and Brittany Blanchette, three great grandchildren; Dashae and Kaseam Seales and Michael Marshall and a beloved great great granddaughter; Mya Meran.

His funeral will be private. Burial will be held in Swan Point Cemetery. Flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in John’s memory to the American Parkinson Disease Foundation, 135 Parkinson Avenue, Staten Island, NY, 10305 would be deeply appreciated. Arrangements are by the W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home, Riverside.
