Cooke, John, C., 81, of South Phillips Street, died peacefully on September 3, 2015. He was the beloved husband of Eveline A. (Viens) Cooke.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Hazard Cooke and Ella (Mauran) Eccelston, he lived in East Providence for 63 years.

Mr. Cooke was a Milieu Therapist at Bradley Hospital for 35 years. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.

John was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.

Besides his wife of 60 years, he is survived by a son, John E. Cooke and his wife Katy of Riverside; three granddaughters, Julie Dutra, Victoria and Courtney Cooke, all of East Providence; two great grandsons, Christopher and Joshua Viveiros and two brothers, Everett Cooke of Coventry and Edward ‘Ted’ Cooke of Temple, TX. He was the father of the late Cathleen A. Cooke.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday September 8, 2015 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:30 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Church, 118 Taunton Avenue, East Providence at 10 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
