John Caserta

Caserta, John, 88, of Roffee Street, Barrington, died peacefully on November 9, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Ilvana (Marcoccia) Caserta.

Born in Pontecorvo, Italy, a son of the late Paulo and Maria Giusseppa (Iannone) Caserta, he lived in Barrington for 65 years.

Mr. Caserta was a designer for the former Quaker Fabric Corp. for 43 years before retiring in 1998.

John was a graduate of the University of Rome Class of 1954 where he earned a degree in accounting.

Mr. Caserta was a communicant of Holy Angels Church. He was a member of the Bristol Elks Club.

John’s passions were gardening and flowers, sketching and oil painting, traveling and spending time with his loving family on trips to New Hampshire.

Besides his wife of 65 years, he is survived by a daughter, Ann-Marie Sbardella and her husband Joseph of Warren; a brother, Vincenzo Caserta of Italy; three grandchildren, Brandon, Matthew and Brittney and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Domenic Caserta and brother of the late Maria Grazia Caserta.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday November 16, 2021 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:30 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Angels Church, Maple Avenue, Barrington at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Santa Maria del Campo Cemetery, Upland Way, Barrington.

Calling hours are Monday 4-7 p.m. Flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Mr. Caserta’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Blvd., Suite 3004, Warwick, RI, 02886 would be deeply appreciated.
