John E. Ellis

Ellis, John, E., 83, of Crescent View Avenue, Riverside, died peacefully on November 7, 2010 at the Evergreen House Health Center. He was the beloved husband of Pearl E. (Hicks) Ellis.
Born in Thornton, Rhode Island, a son of the late William and Mary E. (Wells) Ellis, he lived in Riverside for 40 years.
Mr. Ellis was a furniture repairman at the former Outlet Co., Providence for 30 years.
John was a former member of the Riverside American Legion Post #10. He enjoyed painting and spending time with his family.
Mr. Ellis was a United States Navy Veteran serving during W.W. II.
Besides his wife of 63 years, he is survived by two daughters; Linda Ellis Poland of Riverside and Jane Pesaturo of Riverside, two sons; John E. Ellis Jr. of FL and Daniel Ellis of West Virginia, a sister; Eddie Bonnie of Johnston and five grandchildren.
His funeral service will be held on Friday November 12, 2010 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 11 am. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Calling hours are Friday morning 9-11 am.
