McKenna, John, J., Sr., ‘Mr. Mac’, 83, of Providence Avenue, Riverside, died peacefully on March 19, 2011. He was the beloved husband of Nancy L. (Cameron) McKenna.

Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late John A. and Beatrice (Goulet) McKenna, he lived in Riverside for 55 years.

Mr. McKenna was a sheet metal worker for the former Robert C. Reetz Co. for 50 years before retiring in 1993. He also worked at Fred’s Service Center, Riverside for 5 years.

Besides his wife of 59 years, he is survived by a daughter; Karen T. Chitty-Boe and her husband Edward Boe of Richmond, TX, a sister; Theresa Chenot of Albany, NY, two grandchildren; Michael Chitty of Richmond, TX and Melissa Peyton and her husband Alex of Tyler, TX and a step-granddaughter; Lauren Boe of Texas. He was the father of the late John J. McKenna and brother of the late Irene M. Bento, Rodger and Richard Z. McKenna.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday March 23, 2011 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 am with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 10 am. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
