Whittaker, John T., Jr., 71, of Ivy Lane, died peacefully on November 3, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Mary E. (Mycroft) Whittaker.

Born in Providence, a son of the late John T. and Etta (Swallow) Whittaker, he lived in Seekonk, MA for 45 years.

Mr. Whittaker was a union pipe fitter for Local # 476-51 for 45 years before retiring in 2001. He also was a former Special Police Officer for the Seekonk Police Department for 15 years.

John was a communicant of St. Margaret Church. He was a former coach for the South Seekonk Little League for many years.

Mr. Whittaker was a United States Air Force Veteran serving during the Vietnam War.

Besides his wife of 45 years, he is survived by four sons, John T. Whittaker of Seekonk, MA, James P. Whittaker of Jensen Beach, FL, Joseph F. Whittaker of Seekonk, MA and Jeffrey A. Whittaker of Seekonk, MA. He was the loving grandfather of Madison, Rylee, Raylan and Laney Whittaker. He was the brother of the late Louise M. Holden.

His funeral will be held on Thursday November 8, 2018 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:30 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret Church, Pawtucket Avenue, Rumford at 10 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.Calling hours are Wednesday 5-8 p.m.

    He will be sorely missed by all who knew him! My deepest condolences to you and your family! I only wished I had learned of his passing much sooner!!
