Jose Dionisio Ramos, 75, of Bay Spring Avenue, Barrington Cove in Barrington, died peacefully on his birthday November 15, 2025, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Helia M. (Rocha) Ramos.
Born in Terceira, Azores, a son of the late Manuel S. and Rosa C. (Vieira) Ramos, he lived in Barrington for the past five years, previously residing in North Providence.
Mr. Ramos was a dedicated financial advisor for Primerica for ten years. He also was a security guard for Brown University before retiring.
A proud honorary member of the Grupo Amigos da Terceira, Jose cherished his heritage and community. He was a communicant of Holy Spirit Society of St. Anthony Church, Pawtucket. He was also a devoted fan of the Benfica Soccer Club and the Boston Bruins. A true enthusiast of wrestling, bowling and fishing, he found joy in following the sport and, above all, in spending time with his loving family.
Besides his wife of 53 years, he is survived by two daughters, Christine Ramos of Lincoln and Kelly Ramos and her partner Richard Peters of Lincoln; five grandchildren, Neil, Joslyn, Brett, Anthony, and Christian; and four great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Amiyah, Lincoln, and Milani. He also leaves two sisters, Zenaida Parreira of Tampa, FL, and Saozinha Martins of North Providence, many in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and Godson, Shawn Deutra. He was the father of the late Sandra Marie Ramos Currie and the brother of the late Antonio, Paulo Jorge, and Eduardo Ramos.
His Funeral and Visitation will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 8–9 a.m. in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Luke Church, Washington Road, Barrington at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
My condolences to my family. He was an amazing man. He is no longer suffering. I will keep the amazing memories alive in my heart of all the love and laughter I remember dearly. May he rest in peace.
