Wilcox, Joseph M., Jr., 79, of Brook Avenue, Riverside, died peacefully on December 28, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Eileen (Rezendes) Wilcox.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Joseph M. and Muriel M. (Boyle) Wilcox, he lived in Riverside for 50 years.
Mr. Wilcox was a Chief Petty Officer for the United States Coast Guard for 20 years.

Joseph was a communicant of St. Brendan Church. He was a member of the Chief Petty Officers Association and the CGC Duane Association.

Besides his wife of 53 years, he is survived by three sons, Joseph M. Wilcox III and his wife Edila of Riverside, Robert T. Wilcox and his wife Deborah of Coventry and Andrew N. Wilcox of East Providence and four grandsons, Robert T. Wilcox Jr., Matthew R. Wilcox, Patrick M. Wilcox and Nathan J. Wilcox. He was the brother of the late Ellen A. Petricig.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday January 3, 2018 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 10 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Calling hours are Tuesday 4-8 p.m.

  2. Joe was a part of the Auburn neighborhood and we played a lot of baseball at Respro field. joe also was a great help when I wrote about Clarendon street School
