Richards, Joseph, W., 30, of Upland Road, Riverside, died unexpectedly on August 27, 2015.

Born in Providence, a son of Norma (Whalen) Bettencourt of Riverside and Charles H. Richards III of Riverside, he was a lifelong resident of Riverside.

Mr. Richards was a maintenance worker at Walmart for 8 years before leaving in 2010 due to illness.

Joseph enjoyed playing baseball and basketball.

Besides his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Charles ‘Chuckie’ Richards IV of Riverside and Kevin Richards of Riverside; a sister, Catherine Repoza of Tennessee; a step-father, Brian Bettencourt of Riverside; two step-sisters, Alicia Lorraine of North Providence and Kaitlyn Bettencourt of Johnston, six nieces and one nephew.

A Celebration of his Life will be held on Saturday September 5, 2015 at 3 p.m. in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside. Calling hours are Saturday 1-3 p.m. Burial will be private.
