Cicerchia, Josephine, B., (Pompei), 90, of Congress Road, Barrington died peacefully on October 2, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Salvatore ‘Sam’ Cicerchia.

She was the daughter of the late Guisseppe and Francesca (Lama) Pompei. She was the mother of Carole Allsworth (Paul) of Warren and Sandra Moden with whom she lived.

She was the grandmother of Kelley Allsworth-Pires, Julie Allsworth-Kelly, Valerie (Moden) Thivierge (Ernest III) and Eric Moden. She also leaves behind six great-grandchildren.

She was the sister of John Pompei of Easthampton, MA, Theresa Ferrucci of North Providence and the late Mario Pompei of Riverside. She worked for Rhode Island Lace Works and Speidel Corp. for many years until her retirement in 1984. He was a communicant of Holy Angels Church where she was a member of the Sacred Heart Society.

She loved cooking for her family and making homemade spaghetti every Sunday. Her favorite holiday was Christmas when she would make her wonderful homemade Italian cookies which were her specialty. Her warm hospitality was shown by the enjoyment and compliments she received when she entertained her family and friends. She was deeply fond of her children and grandchildren and especially her six great-grandchildren who brought her much joy and happiness in her later years. She will be sadly missed by everyone whose life she touched with her kindness, genuine warmth and generosity.
