Valentine, Karen, M., (Sylvia), 62, formerly of Bluff Street, Riverside, died peacefully on July 31, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was the former wife of Joseph D. Valentine Jr. of Riverside.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Manuel and Arline M. (Fratus) Sylvia, she was a lifelong resident of East Providence.

Mrs. Valentine enjoyed playing slot machines and spending time with her loving grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Joseph D. Valentine III of Warren and Michael M. Valentine of East Providence; two daughters, Krystal M. Lopes of Bellingham, MA and Niccole M. Valentine of Riverside; two sisters, Stephanie Mowry of Warwick and Jewel Woodside of Seekonk, MA; twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday August 5, 2015 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday 5-8 p.m.
