Murphy, Katherine I. (Kate), 55, of Nathaniel Road, Barrington passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on February 23, 2024 at home.

She was a beloved and loving mother to her daughter, Rebecca Pinto, caring daughter to her parents Helen Stout, John Stout and Richard Murphy. Sister to John R. Stout, Gail Stout and Bob Murphy. She was a cherished grammy to Aurora Caravelli and a caring friend to many, especially Thomas Mulcahy and Jennifer Carroll. Kate is also known as auntie and cousin to many all over the country.

Ms. Murphy lived in Barrington and graduated from Barrington High School and earned an Associate’s degree from Roger Williams University. After many years as an administrative assistant in MA, and RI was more recently a full time grammy.

She enjoyed spending precious time with her loving family, sharing her passion and skills of crafting with her granddaughter, catching up on tv and books with her mother, playing weekly board games with her daughter and boyfriend, and any time spent with her best friend. She enjoyed reading, listening to good music and taking long drives, especially to the beach to enjoy watching the sunset. Besides her passion for driving, she was able to travel and see places all over the world but some of her favorite places to visit were Barrington beach & Colt State Park.

Calling Hours will be held on Friday March 1, 2024 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside from 4-6 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday March 2, 2024 in St. Luke Church, Washington Road, Barrington at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Forest Chapel Cemetery, Nayatt Road, Barrington.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kate’s memory to Crossroads Rhode Island, 160 Broad Street, Providence, RI 02903 or your favorite charity would be deeply appreciated.
