Kenneth O’Shea
Date of Passing:
We bid farewell to Kenneth O’Shea, 85, of Barrington, RI, who departed this world on December 25, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Providence on September 7, 1939, he was the son of the late Cornelius O’Shea and Florence Jones. He was also preceded by his beloved brothers Neil and Kevin O’Shea and former wife Joan Smith.
Ken was most proud for his time and service in the United States Navy and being a veteran of the armed forces. He took great pride being a tin can sailor, a plank owner on the USS Enterprise (CVN 65)-serving during the Vietnam War-and finally retiring as an Operations Specialist Chief (OSC) on the USS Valdez (FF1096).
Ken also was a retired simulation software engineer who had worked for a private government defense contractor.
He is survived by his sons, Kenneth O’Shea of Tiverton and Christopher O’Shea of Riverside and his three grandchildren, Emma, Carter and Noami. In his retirement, Ken treasured his time with his dearest companion of the past twenty years, Janet Marsh of CT and her gracious extended family.
