Smith, Kenneth T. Jr., 59, of North Street, Riverside, died peacefully on September 23, 2020 surrounded by his loving family at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Brenda Lee (Degrenier) Smith.

Born in Providence, a son of Kenneth T. Smith Sr. of Riverside and the late Jean D. (Frank) Smith, he was a lifelong resident of Riverside.

Mr. Smith was a welder fabricator and contractor for many years.

Kenneth enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, golfing, motorcycle riding, boating, visiting Prudence Island and spending time with his loving grandchildren. A sports enthusiast, he was a devoted Dallas Cowboys and Boston Red Sox fan.

Besides his wife of thirty eight years and his father, he is survived by a son, Craig T. Smith of Riverside; a daughter, Kristin L. Smith of Riverside; six grandchildren, Kiley N. Smith, Natalia L. Palermo, Emma L. Smith, Alyanna L. Palermo, Avaleigh M. Smith and Paisley R. Smith; a sister, Dolores J. Baker of Riverside and three brothers, William K. Smith, Scott A. Smith and Todd R. Smith all of Riverside.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday September 27, 2020 in the W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home, 350 Willett, Avenue, Riverside from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. The guidelines set forth by the Rhode Island Department of Health will be observed. Face coverings are required and only fifteen people will be allowed in the building at a time. Flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Kenneth’s memory to Hope Hospice & Palliative Care, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904 would be deeply appreciated.

  7. Brenda and the Smith family my heartfelt condolences go out to you as you remember Kenny. I feel privileged that my son Brian and my granddaughters Natalia and Alyanna had such a good and generous man as a father in law and a grandfather. They shared so many happy memories with me over the years of all the family camping trips and wonderful times on Prudence Island. Kenny’s spirit will live on through these wonderful memories. I am so sorry for everyone’s loss.
