Nardoza, Leonard, A., 90, of Woodbine Street, Riverside, died peacefully on Saturday August 17, 2013 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center. He was the loving husband of Anazine (Hulfachor) Nardoza.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Gerard and Lena (Schifino) Nardoza, he lived in Riverside for 70 years.

Mr. Nardoza was President of the East Providence Sheet Metal Co. on Broadway for many years. He served in World War II in the Army Air Force Unit as a pilot and paratrooper during the China Burma India Theatre.

Leonard was a communicant of both St. Brendan and St. Luke Churches. He enjoyed carpentry and gardening and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots and never tried to miss a game. He also loved to talk politics.

Besides his wife of 68 years, he is survived by a son; Stephen Nardoza of Cranston and two daughters; Paula Stachelek of Barrington and Stephanie Camille of Riverside. He was a loving father and very much enjoyed his grandchildren; Katelyn and James Stachelek. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Genevieve Miller, Victor and Charles Nardoza.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday August 21, 2013 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8 am with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 10 am. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Calling hours are Wednesday morning 8-9 am. Flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Leonard’s memory to the Autism Project of Rhode Island, 1516 Atwood Avenue, Johnston, RI, 02919 would be deeply appreciated.
