McKenna, Louis G., 88, of Holland Avenue, Riverside, died peacefully on May 5, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Rosemarie (Lacroix) McKenna.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Louis and Lillian (Halloran) McKenna, he lived in Riverside for many years.

Mr. McKenna was a fire fighter for the East Providence Fire Department for 33 years before retiring in 1987. He then was a dispatcher for the East Providence Police Department from 1987-1997. He had dedicated 42 years of service to the citizens of East Providence.

Louis was a United States Marine Corps and United States Army Veteran. He was a member of the East Providence Fire Fighters Beneficial Association. A sports enthusiast, he was a devoted University of Notre Dame fan.

Besides his wife of 61 years, he is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Cullen and her husband Bernie of Seekonk, MA and Stephanie Jennings and her husband Michael of Punta Gorda, FL; a son, Stephen McKenna and his wife Kerri of Swansea, MA and six grandchildren, Jeffrey, Brendan, Kaelen, Noah, Cameron and Hannah.
