Nye, Louise M., 92, formerly of Riverside, died peacefully on April 24, 2019. She was the wife of the late Gordon F. Nye.

Born in Johnston, a daughter of the late John and Irene (Tasker) Maxwell, she lived in Riverside for 74 years.

Mrs. Nye was a jewelry worker for Delta Mfg. of East Providence for many years.

Louise enjoyed knitting, crocheting and playing bingo.

She is survived by a son, John F. Nye of Woonsocket; two daughters, Lois A. Hannagan of Naples, FL and Sherill J. Letourneau of Seekonk, MA; three sisters, Barbara Carlson, Jean Gilliland and Irene Lee; a brother, John Maxwell; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Gordon F. Nye Jr.

Her funeral service will be private. Burial will be held in Rumford Cemetery, Rumford. Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Louiseā€™s memory to the American Heart Association, 1 State Street, Providence, RI, 02908 would be deeply appreciated.

  3. Dear Lois , (Cheryl and Johnny), I am very sorry for your loss of your mother. I bring Holy Communion t the Catholic patients at Evergreen, and so for the past couple of years I would stop by Louise’s room for a short little visit and pray with and for her. Please accept my deepest sympathies, and know you all will be in my prayers. I remember you from being next door neighbors, friends on White av and when you lived on Cedar.
