Silvestri, Lucille E., 92, of ‘Tockwotton’, Waterfront Drive, died peacefully on January 1, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Michaelantanio Silvestri.

Born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late William and Lottie (Gagnon) Vadenais, she lived in East Providence for 2 years previously residing in Narragansett for 25 years.

Mrs. Silvestri was a Registered Nurse at Woman and Infants Hospital for 35 years before retiring in 1991. She also was an O.R. Nurse Staff Instructor, Head Nurse and assisted in the first mitral valve surgery in the State of RI. She was a graduate of Pawtucket Memorial Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1946. She was a member of the 1199 Nurses Union at Woman and Infants Hospital. In 1990 she received the Hospital Association of RI award for Nursing Excellence. She enjoyed knitting, boating, fishing and refinishing furniture.

She is survived by a son, Stephen M. Silvestri of Hampstead, MD; two daughters, Patricia A. DiMatteo and her husband Robert of Riverside and Michelle M. Silvestri and her husband Andrew Church of Minneapolis, MN; two sisters, Dolores Lareau of FL and Jeanine Cirillo of MA; three grandchildren, Andrew D. DiMatteo and his wife Alexandra, Alicia L. DiMatteo and her fianc James Burden and Katherine J. Cremean and her husband James and one great granddaughter, Avery Rose Cremean. She was the sister of the late Normand Vadenais.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday January 10, 2017 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 7:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
