Brownhill, Lydia, E., 92, of East Bay Manor, Wampanoag Trial, died peacefully on April 6, 2015 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence.

Born in Meriden, CT, a daughter of the late William and Elfrida (Doerschlag) Brownhill, she lived in East Providence for 40 years.

Miss Brownhill was a Medical Technologist and coordinator of the Medical Technology Unit at Rhode Island Hospital for 20 years before retiring in 1985. She also was a research assistant at the Dartmouth University Hospital in Hanover, NH.

Lydia was a member of the St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Providence, where she served on the Board of Deacons and was a member of the choir. She also was a member of the Hamilton House in Providence.

She is survived by a cousin, Mrs. Herbert Skelly of Eastham, MA.

Her funeral service will be held on Saturday April 11, 2015 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 1 p.m. Burial will be held in the Gethsemane Cemetery, Meriden, CT. Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Lydia’s memory to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 445 Elmwood Avenue, Providence, RI, 02907 would be deeply appreciated.
