Benbenek, Lydia, H., 86, of Sixth Street, died peacefully on December 6, 2009. She was the wife of the late Mitchell J. Benbenek.

Born in New Bedford, Mrs. Benbenek was a legal technician for the Chief Attorney of the Providence Veteran’s Administration for 18 years before retiring in 1983. She lived in Barrington for 42 years.

Lydia was a communicant of St. Luke Church.

She is survived by a daughter; Karen S. Tidd of Putnam, CT, two grandchildren; Keira Beauvais and her husband Robert and son Mitchell, Dr. Abbie Cluver and her husband Dr. Jeffrey and two sons; Nicholas and Alexander and two brothers; Edwin and Sigmund Panek. She was a mother of the late Sharon L. Benbenek.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday December 10, 2009 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 am with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Luke Church, Washington Road, Barrington at 10 am. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday 4-7 pm.
