Ball, Madeline, V., (Costa), 94, of Frederick Street, Rumford, died peacefully on January 14, 2014 at Orchard View Manor. She was the wife of the late Richard F. Ball.

Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late Luciano and Maria Costa, she lived in Rumford for 54 years.

Mrs. Ball was a supervisor on the original Mr. Potato Head line for Hasbro Inc. for many years.

Madeline was a communicant and member of the choir at Saint Margaret Church. She enjoyed spending time with her loving family, playing bingo and the daily lottery. Madeline was also a champion Wii bowler.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary A. Searle and her husband Jeffrey of Barrington; a son, Robert E. Ball and his wife Karen of Attleboro, MA; three grandchildren, Christopher, William and Michael Ball and a great grandson, Connor Ball. She was the mother of the late Richard M. Ball and sister of the late Charlie, Leo, John and Jennie Costa.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday January 17, 2015 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 10:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in Saint Margaret Church, 1098 Pawtucket Avenue, Rumford at 12 Noon. Burial will follow in Mount St. Mary Cemetery.

Calling hours are Friday 5-8 p.m. Flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Madeline’s memory to the Saint Margaret Church Choir, 1098 Pawtucket Avenue, Rumford, RI, 02916 would be deeply appreciated.
