Ferreira, Manuel C. Jr., 69, of Congress Avenue, North Providence, died peacefully on February 17, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen (McCaffrey) Ferreira.

Born in East Providence, a son of the late Manuel C. and Emily (Gomes) Ferreira, he lived in North Providence for 19 years.

Mr. Ferreira was a Chef at Providence College for 15 years.

Manuel was a member of the Portuguese American Club of Smithfield and the VFW Post #1011 of North Providence. A sports enthusiast, he was a devoted Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, stamp collecting and gardening.

Mr. Ferreira was United States Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War.

Besides his wife of thirty eight years, he is survived by three daughters, Kimberly A. Fague of North Providence, Jennifer L. Robinson of Woonsocket and Michelle L. Bowab and her husband Joseph of Cumberland; four grandchildren, Owen, Adison, Aidan and Mia; a brother, David Ferreira and his wife Linda of Seekonk, MA and a sister, Paula Carroll of Riverside.

His funeral service will be held on Monday February 24, 2020 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 11:30 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Calling hours are Sunday 4-7 p.m. Flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Manuel’s memory to Fisher House of Boston, P.O. Box 230 South Walpole, MA 02071 would be deeply appreciated.

  1. Manny was a good friend from school ~ we graduated from EPHS together in the class of 1969. He was quiet, kind and always a gentleman. I am sorry to read of his passing and extend sincere sympathy to his family. May your memories bring you comfort in the days ahead.
