Ferreira, Manuel, C., 94, of Elson Drive, Riverside, died peacefully on November 21, 2014. He was the husband of the late Emily (Gomes) Ferreira.

Born in Fornos, Portugal, a son of the late Salvador R. and Virginia (Cardoso) Ferreira, he lived in Riverside for 57 years.

Mr. Ferreira was a foreman for the Midland Print Works, Fall River, MA from 1962-1985. He also worked at Gripnail in East Providence for 14 years.

Manuel was a member of the Luso Portuguese Association.

Mr. Ferreira was a highly decorated United States Army Veteran serving during World War II in the invasion of Anzio where he was a recipient of the Purple Heart.

He is survived by two sons, Manuel C. Ferreira Jr. and his wife Kathleen of North Providence and David C. Ferreira and his wife Linda of Seekonk, MA; a daughter, Paula M. Carroll and her husband Michael of Riverside; four granddaughters and seven great grandchildren.

His funeral service will be held on Tuesday November 25, 2014 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 11 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday morning 9-10:30 a.m.
