Scanlon, Margaret, J., (McNeil), 88, of Hawthorne Avenue, died peacefully on December 9, 2015. She was the wife of the late Thomas A. Scanlon.

Born in Lisbon, NY, a daughter of the late Ceylon and Berniece (Ellsworth) McNeil, she lived in Barrington for 65 years.

Mrs. Scanlon was a Registered Nurse for many years. She was a member of the Wannamoisett Country Club and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.

She is survived by her children, Susan J. Scanlon of New York, NY, Kathleen B. Brown of Newark, Delaware, C. Lynne Beauregard of New York, NY, Sean T. Scanlon of Providence, Michelle A. Monroe of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Stacey E. Koekkoek of Framingham, MA and Matthew T. Scanlon of Brooklyn, NY; two grandchildren, Veronica J. Monroe and Henry H. Monroe, both of Santa Fe, New Mexico and a sister, Cora Godfrey of Shreveport, Louisiana. She was the mother of the late Diane M. Scanlon and sister of the late Berta Bouchard and Richard McNeil.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Monday December 14, 2015 in St. Luke Church, Washington Road, Barrington at 11 a.m. followed by a reception at the Scanlon Residence.
