Godlewski, Margaret M., (O’Hara), 94, of New Meadow Road, Barrington, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on December 9, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late John A. Godlewski.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Thomas F. and Lavinia (Caine) O’Hara, she lived in Barrington 18 years.

Mrs. Godlewski was a communicant of St. Luke Church. She loved tic tac’s, doing puzzles and word search. She adored precious time with her family and taking rides, including Barrington Beach, Dunkin Donuts and ice cream. Every summer, she cherished quality time at Lake Winnipesaukee with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by six daughters; Joan Harnish of North Scituate, Elaine F. Joyal, with whom she resided, and Jane Shuman, both of Barrington, Carol Ann Godlewski of Anaheim, CA, Patricia Godlewski-Tetreault of Pawtucket and Susan Galbraith of Smithfield; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Alice O’Hara of Providence and several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday December 14, 2022 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:15 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Luke’s Church, Washington Road, Barrington at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Calling hours are Tuesday 5-8 p.m. Flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Margaret’s memory to the Visiting Nurse Home & Hospice, 1184 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI 02871 would be deeply appreciated.

    Joan and all your family, my very belated condolences to you all. Margaret was a wonderful mother and it was always lovely to be amongst her and her girls. Joan, I am so sorry for your loss. You and your sisters are thought of often.

  2. Dear Elaine, It is with great regret that I just now saw the passing of your Mom as I was scanning the obits. I most certainly would have been at the funeral Mass on Wedhesday, Be assured of my belated prayers at this difficult time. What a beautiful smile she brought to Mass each week.
